The neighborhood
On Saturday evening, John and I were at the house completing items on the punch list. While I was in the front yard placing and filling the new front porch planters, I saw young couples arriving at the house down the street with gifts. I could hear the laughter of children playing in the front yard. From the nature of the packaging, my guess is that someone was having a baby shower. Residents were out walking dogs, many of whom we now know by name and visit with regularly. Directly across the street, the neighbor waved and gave me a thumbs up on the plantings.
The couple who lives next door stepped over for a tour. They had visited the home during the estate sale held earlier in the year, so they could assess the progress that has been made. We talked of who the house would fit, and all agreed that it will make a great place for entertaining and for a family. As it is all on one level, it is extremely accessible--making it attractive to someone older or someone disabled.
The property is located in the VECA area, close to Crosstown Concourse, Rhodes and the Medical District. It will be interesting to see who will call this house their home and join this lovely neighborhood.
More photos will be posted mid-week. (As is often the case, things look their messiest just before they become tidy.) We will have the details, including the address, ready for review on this site on Wednesday or Thursday. An open house is planned for the afternoon of Sunday, Sept 10, and we will also be posting the property on Zillow. If you are a prequalified buyer and have interest, give John a call or send a text to 901.569.0211, and he will give you more details.
