John Baker Homes is a family effort that combines the skills of John Baker, his wife Jane Pate, and his son Evan Baker. Working one house at a time, the goal is to preserve the structure's character while improving it to accommodate modern living needs. Energy efficiency and sustainability measures are employed in every renovation project.
John and Jane each started their college studies in architecture, at Clemson and Auburn, respectively. Even though they both changed majors and pursued careers in other fields, they continued to have a common love of home design and renovation. Over the years, each completed home renovation projects. In 2016, John and Jane decided to work together to selectively acquire, improve and then sell homes. Wilcox was the first project completed by their combined efforts as John Baker Homes (JBH).
Evan began working with his family on the second JBH project, Marne. He discovered that he loved the trade and has been a part of many of our renovations.
